Video Introduction: What SAP Said About Rapid Deployment Solutions Speeding Implementations

Text Introduction (Skip if You Watched the Video)

SAP has been continuously attempting to mitigate the accurate perception that their applications take a long time to implement. SAP ASAP methodology was one of these initiatives that did nothing to speed SAP implementations. The RDS or Rapid Deployment Solution was another.  The concept behind RDSs was that SAP would package up a series of assistive documents, demos, etc…that would give the impression of enabling implementation teams to implement SAP that previously was the case. One might wonder, if each of these methods or tools work, why are new methods continually introduced by SAP? You will learn how accurate SAP was on its claims of the RDS speeding implementations.

Notice of Lack of Financial Bias: We have no financial ties to SAP or any other entity mentioned in this article.

  • This is published by a research entity, not some lowbrow entity that is part of the SAP ecosystem.
  • Second, no one paid for this article to be written, and it is not pretending to inform you while being rigged to sell you software or consulting services. Unlike nearly every other article you will find from Google on this topic, it has had no input from any company's marketing or sales department. As you are reading this article, consider how rare this is. The vast majority of information on the Internet on SAP is provided by SAP, which is filled with false claims and sleazy consulting companies and SAP consultants who will tell any lie for personal benefit. Furthermore, SAP pays off all IT analysts -- who have the same concern for accuracy as SAP. Not one of these entities will disclose their pro-SAP financial bias to their readers.

What is the Truth About Rapid Deployment Solutions Speeding Implementations?

We spent analyzing RDSs in the article How to Understand the Faux SAP RDS. They concluded that they were not only not helpful (and we would know as we are experienced implementers) but that they would give customers a false impression about how fast SAP could be implemented. This was their primary intent all along as we estimated that they were developed out of sale and marketing at SAP, not out of consulting.

Conclusion and Calculation

SAP receives a 0% accuracy rating on any SAP RDS speeding SAP implementations.
