That calculates to $1.33 per MG, which is quite expensive. The problem is that while HoneyBee is a quality pharmacy and Edenbridge is a quality manufacturer producing in the US, the cost of the Ivermectin will undoubtedly add up. Also, 12 MG tablets are a more economical unit to purchase Ivermectin.

This is the generic version of Zoloft. A typical dosage for Zoloft is between 50 and 100 mg. However, Zoloft, through Honey Bee Health, is only $21 for 270 tablets of 50 MG. This would last between 270 and 135 days (if the person took 100 MG daily). That is far lower than the cost of Ivermectin. This price is too low, and drugs sold at such a low price invariably have quality problems.

Secondly, the manufacturer is in India and is Aurobindo. I recognize this manufacturer as they have been repeatedly caught engaging in manufacturing fraud. It would be a bad idea for anyone using prescription Zoloft to use the Aurobindo version of Zoloft.

As Ivermectin is a generic medication, any pharmaceutical manufacturer can produce it; the natural question is, why is it so expensive versus a drug like Zoloft? Most of the generic Ivermectin manufacturing is in India, with a few manufacturers located outside the country.

The Two-Tiered Market for Drugs

This creates a two-tiered market, where, while there may be a lot of competition for people who want to take a chance on Indian-manufactured Ivermectin or who are unaware of the endemic quality problems in Indian drug manufacturing, there is little competition for those who prefer non-Indian manufactured Ivermectin. Once a cost comparison is performed, it becomes apparent why Merck’s original formula, Ivermectin, is so rarely seen. It is even more amusing to see that the product is currently back-ordered. Is this due to demand, or is it because a tiny quantity of this Merck formulation is being produced due to its very high price?

So, 90% of our drug supply is generic. The majority of those drugs come from overseas. Forty percent alone of all of our generics are manufactured in India. I have found this to be the case numerous times when checking the sources of online pharmacies, where the country of manufacture is often omitted from the description.
