CNBC and the Medical Establishment Exaggerate Risks of Vitamin D Overdose

Executive Summary

  • CNBC and the medical establishment exaggerated Vitamin D overdose risks to keep people from taking something that is very good for their health.

Introduction

The establishment media is constantly pushing pharmaceuticals and depressing the use of natural substances that would decrease the need for pharmaceuticals.

This article explains the clear de-emphasis on Vitamin D by health authorities. One of their standard scare tactics is to make readers think about overdosing or vitamin D overdose risks.

The CNBC Article on Vitamin D Overdose

This article by CNBC is very transparent in how it attempts to scare the public away from Vitamin D using the argument of Vitamin D overdose cases.

I analyze this article in CNBC and show how it is deceptive.

Assertion #1: Vitamin D is Useless Against Covid

As a supplement, vitamin D has been a common staple on drugstore shelves for years — and its popularity is only growing.

In the U.S., its market value is projected to hit $1.3 billion by 2025. Studies show a large jump in vitamin D deficiency diagnoses over the past two decades, and the over-the-counter supplement claims to bolster your bone health, muscle function and immune system.

The supplement took on new life last year, when people started taking vitamin D pills as a preventative measure against Covid. Today, medical experts generally agree: Vitamin D doesn’t prevent you from getting the virus.

This is an odd statement. Vitamin D is not something that will stop a virus — however, it will reduce the severity of not only covid but of other viruses. Vitamin D, sometimes called “Hormone D” as it is not actually a vitamin and is used in the body as a hormone, is one of the most important things that one can take for the immune system. Its effectiveness in supporting the immune system is extremely well established, which CNBC naturally leaves out of this discussion.

Assertion #2: No Evidence it Lessens the Severity of Covid Infections?

And while scientists are still trying to determine if it can lessen the severity of infections, due to its immune-bolstering benefits, it’s certainly no replacement for getting vaccinated.

Vitamin D supplements are one of the most important things one can take to improve the response versus covid and really any other virus. This is shown at the website c19Early.

The establishment media and medical establishment like to pretend that the C19Early website does not exist. Vitamin D has many studies and is effective against covid, for the simple reason that the vast majority of the population has a vitamin D deficiency, and supplementation addresses this deficiency — although getting more sun is even better than entirely using vitamin D supplements because there are many things that come with getting sun, with vitamin D being just one of them.

On Vitamin D Deficiency

There are many studies on vitamin D deficiency, and the numbers are generally around 90% of the population has a deficiency. Here is a list of the co-deficiencies.

9 out of 10 Americans are deficient in potassium
7 out of 10 are deficient in calcium
8 out of 10 are deficient in vitamin E
50 percent of Americans are deficient in vitamin A, vitamin C, and magnesium
More 50 percent of the general population is vitamin D deficient, regardless of age
90 percent of Americans of color are vitamin D deficient
Approximately 70 percent of elderly Americans are vitamin D deficient – Biostation

But the problem is that most of the studies are measured against a very low level of vitamin D. So in terms of optimal vitamin D levels, the population is even further off of optimal.
