Scientology Video Makes Multiple False Claims and Logical Errors

Executive Summary

  • Scientology makes numerous logical errors in a video designed to burnish its image.

Introduction

Scientology has an image problem. And this video is designed to allay these concerns.

The Video

Observations

Wow…a religion that has no interest in converting you. So there is no interest in converting the viewer to Scientology?

The statements are very clearly deceptive — also the phrase..

“It is only true if it is true for you.”

This is fiddle-faddle.

Gravity is true for everyone. Not true for some people, and then not true for others. Scientology is not true for some people. It is false, the distinction being that Scientologists can’t see it. But that does not make it true. In fact, this statement is unscientific in the extreme.

Only Information From Scientology is Credible About Scientology

Miscavige makes the following statement.

“Whatever you have heard, if you have not heard it from us, I can assure you, we are not what you expect.”

How can Misgavage be so confident that this is true? How can Misgavage know that any comment that is not from Scientology makes the listener have an inaccurate view of Scientology?

The idea that nothing about Scientology is reliable unless you hear it from Scientology is also an impossible assertion. Scientology has no special position to declare that other people who are informed about Scientology cannot have their own views of critique Scientology. If we only accepted things as true if they come from the entity itself, then there would be no criticism as no entity would release criticism about itself.

Scientology is an Expert in Treading Drug Addiction?

Scientology considers itself expert in treating drug addiction, but its Narconon centers do not have any evidence that they work — and they are simply gateways to Scientology.

This video, particularly the end is entirely brainless. It is merely pleasing imagery. It does not even work as propaganda.
