Why Ivermectin is Effective as an Antiviral

Executive Summary

  • Ivermectin has a well-established history as effective as an antiviral.
  • This is something not acknowledged by many medical authorities.

Introduction

Ivermectin is only approved for two purposes, neither specifically a virus, or at least one not conclusively a virus. However, Ivermectin has an established history of being effective for this use.

The Approval of Ivermectin for Rosacea Soolantra

These quotes are from the article Pityriasis Rosea on the Johns Hopkins website.

The cause of pityriasis rosea is not known, but it is commonly believed to be caused by a virus or bacteria.

This statement contradicts a common point by entities like WebMD that undermine Ivermectin by saying it is only approved as an anti-parasitical. This is because many anti-parasitics are also anti-viral and anti-bacterial.

Therefore, Ivermectin would be effective regardless of whether a virus or a bacteria causes rosacea.

  • Ivermectin was approved for rosacea before the medical establishment opened up an offensive against the drug.
  • Today, it is unlikely that Ivermectin would obtain approval for treating rosacea because of precisely what approving it for this purpose admits about the drug.

Ivermectin Antiviral

Ivermectin antiviral capabilities are explained in the article Ivermectin: a systematic review from antiviral effects to COVID-19 complementary regimen.

Important Point #1: Ivermectin as a Wonder Drug?

Ivermectin proposes many potentials effects to treat a range of diseases, with its antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-cancer properties as a wonder drug. It is highly effective against many microorganisms including some viruses. In this comprehensive systematic review, antiviral effects of ivermectin are summarized including in vitro and in vivo studies over the past 50 years.

Important Point #2: Effective Against How Many Viruses?

Several studies reported antiviral effects of ivermectin on RNA viruses such as Zika, dengue, yellow fever, West Nile, Hendra, Newcastle, Venezuelan equine encephalitis, chikungunya, Semliki Forest, Sindbis, Avian influenza A, Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome, Human immunodeficiency virus type 1, and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.

Furthermore, there are some studies showing antiviral effects of ivermectin against DNA viruses such as Equine herpes type 1, BK polyomavirus, pseudorabies, porcine circovirus 2, and bovine herpesvirus 1. Ivermectin plays a role in several biological mechanisms, therefore it could serve as a potential candidate in the treatment of a wide range of viruses including COVID-19 as well as other types of positive-sense single-stranded RNA viruses. In vivo studies of animal models revealed a broad range of antiviral effects of ivermectin, however, clinical trials are necessary to appraise the potential efficacy of ivermectin in clinical setting.

This means Ivermectin is effective against an extensive range of viruses and is one of our most universal antivirals.

Important Point #3: Effective Against the HEV Virus

Ivermectin is effective against HEV through interferon response.

In an in vitro study, researchers examined the effectiveness of ivermectin on HEV, a Henipavirus belonging to the Paramyxoviridae family and a negative-sense, single-stranded RNA virus. The main pathogenicity of this virus is partly due to its ability to inhibit the host type-one interferon response by producing the polycistronic p gene. In this study, researchers showed that HEV moves dynamically between the nucleus and the cytoplasm through the IMP α1.

Important Point #4: Effective Against the DENV Virus

Kylie et al. in an in vitro study on infected human cervical adenocarcinoma cells (Hela) showed that ivermectin in high concentrations (25–50 µM) has an inhibitory effect on the proliferation of DENV, a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus, the genus Flavivirus, the Flaviviridae family. It does this by inhibiting the transfer of viral proteins between the host cell cytoplasm and its nucleus, which is dependent on IMP α/β1. The researchers showed that ivermectin inhibited the nuclear aggregation of NS5 of DENV.

Addressing the Damage

One of the best ways to address the damage caused by the covid vaccines is with Ivermectin. This is the reason I began taking Ivermectin -- before investigating all the other health benefits of the drug. Now, I take Ivermectin for many reasons.
