The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Donations to the WHO

Like most institutes that reflect the mainstream doctrine, the World Health Organisation has received masses of money from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently, the Foundation’s website lists 565 different grants donated to the World Health Organisation since their first partnership in 1998. To name a few grants listed,

in July 2008 the foundation donated $676m,

in July 2018 they donated $121m,

in September 2014 it donated $307m and the list goes on, totaling something around the $5bn mark.

Yes, giving five billion dollars will buy a lot of influence over the WHO.

Did Bill Gates Select Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to Lead the WHO?

In May 2017, the World Health Organisation elected its new director-general to replace its former director-general, Margaret Chan. The electee was Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a Dr. in philosophy, and the former health minister of Ethiopia between 2005 and 2012, and Ethiopia’s minister of foreign affairs until 2016. Despite being director-general since just 2017, Tedros’s ties to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation go back over a decade.

As Ethiopia’s health minister, Ghebreyesus worked very closely with the Bill and Melinda Foundation. Between 2010 and 2014, the Gates Foundation committed $1.5bn towards child health and family planning in countries with high child mortality, namely India and Ethiopia, with $60m going towards Ethiopia. This was done as part of the ‘family planning’ organization. Tedros said at the time: ‘it’s a great pleasure and honor to take part in this landmark event on behalf of the government and the people of Ethiopia, let me start by thanking the government of the united kingdom, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In October 2011, Gavi, ‘The Vaccine Alliance’ (created by Bill Gates), entered Ethiopia to ‘immunize’ 90 million children against pneumonia. Tedros said at the time: “This introduction represents a big step forward for our nation and I would like to express my sincere appreciation of GAVI’s continued support.” The initiative was part of a mechanism called AMC, Advanced Market Commitment. In a 2014 interview with The Takeaway, Bill Gates said: “Yeah, in Ethiopia’s case they have a great health minister – Tedros – who got the donors working together and built measurement systems.”

Tedros Gebreyesus is also a member of the advisory council at the Gates-funded Fund for Global Health. The panel’s executive director is Ernest Loevinsohn, who formerly worked as head of global health policy at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Looking at the situation, it seems the relationship with Gates and Ghebrayesus (now director-general of the WHO) hasn’t weakened. In a World Health Organisation press conference last April, when confronted about “conspiracy theories around the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation”, Tedros responded:

“I just wanted to comment on Gates Foundation. I have known Bill and Melinda for many, many years now and have been working with them very closely, not as a DG , but when I was in Ethiopia working in the Ministry of Health and later on. Their commitment, I mean these two human beings, it’s amazing…”

“So that’s what I would like to assure you. And now during this COVID situation, their support is really big. And we’re getting all the support we need. And together, we believe we can turn the tide. And I would like to use this opportunity, not only to Bill and Melinda, but to the whole family for such an extraordinary commitment, and not only the family, to the foundation at large also, for the commitment and all that they are doing.” – The Alternative Column

Yes…but the question is..does Tedros have any independence from Bill Gates, and how much influence did Bill Gates have in selecting Tedros to head the WHO?
