The Standard Explanation for The Decline of Detroit and Other Midwestern Cities
Videos like this will never bring up the fact that what happened in Detroit happened in every city in the US where blacks have become predominant. A significant limitation in the analysis of what has led to the decline of so many cities where blacks have become predominant is that every city is treated as if it were in isolation from other cities. This same issue applies to the overall Midwest.

Here is the quote from the 0:28 mark in the video.
Most cities in the Rust Belt have experienced a population decline, including Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, St Louis. All of these have experienced major population losses.
The peak of Detroit’s population was in 1950. This marked the pinnacle of the US car industry’s success. And the groups that primarily left — significantly decreasing Detroit’s population were white. Both car manufacturers and the population had moved out of Detroit before the significant changes to the car companies and the rise of foreign competition began.
The video also makes the point that American car manufacturers became less dominant with the arrival of Japanese cars and other changes to the US automotive industry. However, this explanation misrepresents when car companies began moving factories out of Detroit, which was decades before Japanese cars penetrated the US market in the 1970s. An 80% City That is 80% Black
In 2023, Detroit is roughly 80% black.
Detroit’s Demographic Change
From 1960 to 2020, Detroit’s population shifted from 71% white to 10% white, while the black population moved fvrom 29% black to 77% black.
Black Flight from the Detroit City Center
No city that undergoes demographic changes can remain a civilized one. After the whites moved out of Detroit to get away from backs, many blacks moved to the suburbs to get away from other blacks, making whites move out even further. So Detroit not only has a ruined city core, but also significantly black degraded suburbs.
The long-term pattern in all the Midwest cities is for the population to decline, primarily due to white flight, and then for the town to be left with a substantial black population. Without a sufficient white population or whites vastly outnumbering blacks, no history of any town flourishing exists.
In 1967, the black riots prompted even more whites to leave, as is explained in the quote from the article The Effect of the Decline of Manufacturing on the Black Middle Class.
In the aftermath of Detroit’s polarizing 1967 riots, the steady stream of white residents who were already leaving the city turned into a torrent. Yet many middle-class blacks opted to stay behind. Most of the suburbs remained off limits to African-Americans; what’s more, the 1973 election of Detroit’s first black mayor, Coleman Young — himself a former Ford line worker — seemed like cause for renewed optimism. But in the 1980s, as crime rates soared, the quality of schools and services plummeted and the number of crack houses multiplied, more and more middle-class blacks abandoned the city for the suburbs, or in some cases, left the Detroit area altogether.
Why? Well — most of the whites left, and Detroit became increasingly managed by blacks.
Everything listed is the inevitable outcome of when blacks are not allowed to benefit from a white-run and white predominant society, and when they are predominant.
This quote describes what Coleman Young told white residents of Detroit after he was elected.
Coleman Young started the decline of the city of Detroit. He drew the line and told white people this is a black city now. He was the reason people and businesses left Detroit. The man at the end of this video has his point of view, those of us whose families grew up in the city in the early 1900’s until the riots in the 60’s have a different point of view.
Coleman Young did not seem to realize that the blacks had no possible way of maintaining what whites had built. After white flight, blacks then complained that they were “racially isolated.” And that it was racism, not blacks, that ruined Detroit.
The Degradation of Predominantly Black and Black Managed Schools as an Example of What Happens to Black Cities
This is what happens to schools in black cities.
At the 18-minute point in this video, it explains that around 50% of people in Detroit are functionally illiterate. This same issue applies to other black cities. See this quote from the article St. Louis NAACP files civil rights complaint over low literacy rates among Black students.
A 2022 report from the National Assessment of Educational Progress shows white students scoring 34 points higher in reading than Black students. That performance gap is largely unchanged from more than 20 years ago, amounting to 33 points in 1998.
This data is unacceptable to Adolphus M. Pruitt, president of the St. Louis chapter of the NAACP. He wants the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights to take a close look at the longstanding problem, which the NAACP calls a civil rights issue.
“We want them to mediate between us and all those school districts to say, ‘Hey, we need to look at how we’re educating children in the St Louis region, especially Black children,’” he said.
Even though the black areas of St. Louis have schools that are run by blacks, the NAACP, by calling it a civil rights issue, is blaming whites.
However, even among blacks who can read, they continue to say ridiculous things, misrepresent history, and misrepresent and misunderstand math. However, literacy is simply not going to solve all the deep problems with Black cognition.
At the 19-minute mark in this video, Nolan Finley states that there’s nothing wrong with the children. The children can learn. Are you sure about that, Nolan? Because in every place where blacks are in the US, the schools are bad. And the higher the concentration of blacks, the worse the school is. The correlation is overwhelming. However, corruption makes it worse. At the 23-minute mark of the video, Nolan Finley points out that the school board is corrupt and is more concerned with family members securing jobs than with improving the educational experience for students. However, that is normal black behavior.
Black Students Deserve to Have White Administrators Running Their Schools?
Bentley seems to be presuming that the blacks who are in school in Detroit deserve to have the administrative capabilities of whites running that school. However, why is this true? At the 24-minute point in the video, the previous superintendent of Detroit Public Schools pointed out the total lack of professionalism among the school board and that the school board was inflating student enrollment numbers, which, of course, is a form of corruption. This is a strategy to secure additional funding for the school. And of course, being black, there was a complete lack of organization and professionalism.
Incredibly, it has not been figured out that blacks cannot manage anything. They are given opportunity after opportunity, and they continually demonstrate their incompetence and their corruption. The inability of blacks to run schools, run cities, is shown to a minor degree by their failure to run schools. The Detroit school district faces a significant issue with corrupt contracts that often result in subpar services and products, ultimately benefiting those connected to the school district. Again, this is a ubiquitous feature of black management. Audits revealed widespread fraud in the Detroit school district, with individuals writing unauthorized checks to themselves for services that were not rendered. Only 5 of 193 schools had properly maintained accounting. The Detroit school board was found to have been orchestrating the corruption, often to the benefit of either school board members or their family and friends. In Detroit — and any other black run city for that matter — being on the school board is a license to steal.

in 1999, when the state first took control, DPS had a stable budget, a $93 million surplus and 173,000 students. Currently, DPS has an enrollment of less than 50,000 and a budget deficit of approximately $350 million. The state’s use of public funds is highly questionable; millions of dollars have been used to renovate buildings that have been subsequently demolished, abandoned or sold at a price lower than the cost of repairs.
This is in 2015 dollars.
Of the nation’s 50 largest cities, Detroit has the most children living in extreme poverty, with, as of 2012, approximately 59 percent of Detroit children living in poverty. Considering that education is widely considered to be a means to escape poverty and access a better life, the decline of DPS effectively closes this door to many children.
Liberals made the mistake of assuming that eventually blacks would behave as if they were white. However, the Southerners had a much better understanding of black capabilities and black predilections.
Complete Black Incompetence on Display
The confidence described at the 27-minute point of this video is mind-boggling. However, this is normal and is representative of how blacks manage things. Why are black-run items continuing to receive resources? After it’s undeniable that all they do is mismanage them.
Ruining Other Less Black Schools by Moving to Get Away from Black Schools
The result of predominantly black schools and schools managed by blacks is that black parents seek to flee the schools in search of good schools. And what good schools mean is schools that have more white students and fewer black students. Therefore, after ruining their schools, the response of the blacks is to migrate to other schools that are less black, setting up the cycle for ruining those schools as well. Notice the headline presents the problem as if it is some great mystery.
The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s 2025 Kids Count Data Book, released last week, found that 9 in 10 Black eighth-graders are not proficient in math, and 85% of fourth-graders are not reading at grade level — the lowest proficiency rates of any racial group.
But the chronic struggles of Black students won’t improve, she says, without addressing systemic racial issues in K-12 public education, and tackling problems that are closely linked to poverty outside of the classroom.
The “racial issue” is that, invariably, regardless of the state or the school, the higher the percentage of blacks that go to that school, the worse the school. Consider these quotes from a teacher who has witnessed their school’s decline due to black enrollment.
I am a teacher at a small Catholic school, where I have taught for over 15 years. During that time I have seen a massive demographic shift in the student population.
The school is noticeably different now. The hallways are packed with black students, standing around and blocking everyone else’s passage, oblivious to what is going on around them. They yell rather than talk, in the hallways but also in class. Once in the classroom, they often continue talking throughout class, and have no shame about speaking over their teachers. Students of all races walk around with shirts untucked, collars unbuttoned, and shoes untied.
The topics of conversation among black students are often horribly inappropriate for any setting, let alone a classroom. Black students routinely use profanity and discuss sex. Once I was screening a film about Africa. A semi-clad black man appeared on screen. A middle school black girl loudly proclaimed “Mmm mmm mmm, I want to suck his dick!” A female coworker once wore a shirt that showed a bit of cleavage. In her first class of the day, some black boys talked about her breasts for the entire period, remarking on their size and how they would like to shove their faces into them. She was nervous about going to that class for the rest of the year, and began dressing very conservatively.
I had five or six extremely aggressive black students. They talked at full volume during class, and threatened any students who asked them to be quiet. Their conversations were often vulgar, and they loudly discussed the various sex acts they wanted to perform with (usually white) female students.
There were four white students in that class, and they sat together in a four-desk square in the middle of the room, surrounded by loud, angry black boys. It reminded me of so many white neighborhoods that have been swallowed up by blacks and were completely ruined by their new residents.
How can black students afford to attend a private, Catholic school with tuition now over ten thousand dollars? Often they do not have to pay. Many receive sports scholarships and grants far more generous than anything offered to white students. These costs are subsidized by families who pay full price. Some white students get assistance as well, but are usually required to volunteer at school functions. Black students in theory are supposed to do so as well, but many do not. Their parents almost never volunteer.
Increasingly, good students of any race are choosing to go elsewhere, and we are left with students of all races with learning disabilities or who do not care about school. This is a vicious cycle. As the number of black students increases, the number of students with strong academic backgrounds decreases, meaning a greater percentage of our freshman classes will be black. Our current freshman class is 50 percent black. To put it in perspective, there are more black students in the freshman class than graduated from the school during the five years from 2000 and 2005. This trend means that a once majority-white, cohesive community with a strong Catholic identity will become another black-dominated educational cesspool, supported by left-leaning donors who want to pat themselves on the back. It will no longer be a community with a common culture.
This assumes that the school will even stay open. More likely, as white families leave, so too will the low-cost maintenance services they provide, and the building will deteriorate. Scores on standardized tests will decline, making the school unattractive. Outside donors will stop giving. Local businesses will no longer want to hire our students, and will sever ties. Eventually, the school will become a money pit and will close. An abandoned school will blight the community, and property values will sink. What was once an anchor for the community will become an albatross.
And why?
So that a few well-meaning liberals could pat themselves on the back, and one man could win basketball championships. This is the price all over the country that Americans are paying for their delusions.
This is termed “niggerification.” And this is how liberals support the niggerification of schools. Blacks and liberals have a secret pact to ruin everything they can. Thus, liberals are the enemy of civilization and civilized outcomes.
I went to a bused high school myself, and no white student should ever be forced to attend a high school that has blacks in it. The entire conversation surrounding busing centers on how it can improve the lives of Black students. But it says nothing about how it degrades the lives of non-black students. A decade after I graduated, I returned to the high school to see that it had gone from 50% black to 100% black. I noticed that in almost all the classrooms, videos were playing. A large number of Blacks are entering and enrolling in schools. This causes the non-black students to flee.

What Black Run Schools Do to Degrade White Student Learning and Test Performance
Observe this quote from the article Zero Math Proficiency: The National Impact on Black Students.
The math proficiency struggles in Baltimore City schools reflect a widespread, nationwide crisis that disproportionately affects Black students. The 2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress results showed that only 18% of Black fourth-grade students were proficient in math, compared to more than half of white students. For eighth graders, 13% of Black students were proficient, compared to 45% of white students.
One has to wonder how only 45% of eighth-grade white students can be proficient in math, because this number is far higher when whites attend a predominantly white school. Blacks run Baltimore schools. This illustrates why whites will always be poorly served by going to a black run school. A few people talk about this, but what happens if a white student, through circumstances, is forced to go to a predominantly black school?
What Later Happened to Deanne Williams?
A black girl named Deanna Williams. When profiled, it was clear that Deanne Williams had a significantly higher intelligence and curiosity than other black students shown in the video.
This comment indicates what happened to Deanna Williams later.
Deanna Williams, she’s doing extraordinary. I did some digging, because I was curious about her and wanted to see if I could get an update. She ended up getting her Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of Missouri, and she’s the Director of Multicultural Affairs at Fontboone University.
Multicultural affairs is a euphemism for black and brown interests.
This is a problem with blacks becoming educated. Has she become a professional race scammer, as that is what a person who works in a multicultural affairs office does? It is a grievance office that seeks to parasitize something built up by whites.
No doubt Deanne’s job is to advocate for blacks. It promotes reducing academic standards in an attempt to get more blacks into Footboone University — which will, as with the black high schools profiled, degrade the academics and civility of Footboone University. When you educate blacks, they use that education as a weapon to pry more benefits out of white society. Even if you inform a black person, you cannot instill in them any work ethic, curiosity or etc… So they need to find a way to scam, and the easiest people to scam are whites, particularly white liberals who will listen to the complaints of blacks and their proposal that all of their problems are due to whites.
Comparing the Similarities of What Happened to Detroit to Gary, IN
The best way to understand what happened in Detroit is to examine a graph of the same phenomenon in Gary, Indiana. Gary and Detroit are not two different stories. They are the same story.
- Step #1: White develops a city.
- Step #2: Blacks move to the city to gain employment opportunities.
- Step #3: The city has been sustainable for decades, but the black population continues to rise.
- Step #4: At a certain point, the growth of the black population over-strains the white society — and then white flight takes over. White flight is continual — and it eventually leaves the black population as the highest percentage of any group in the city. The city is becoming an increasingly significant recipient of federal aid. At this point, the town becomes a permanent drain on federal resources, pulling more from the federal government than it pays in taxes.
- Step #5: Without whites or with far fewer whites, the black population is unable on its own to replace what the whites created, and the city goes into a doom loop.

The Dominance of Blacks in the Violence Statistics in the US
Why Other Races Flee Black Areas
Whites and other races flee from blacks for very good reasons. In the US blacks are the number one racial group that victimizes other racial groups with violent crime. Black culture is harmful to both blacks and anyone else who is around blacks. Blacks themselves know this. However, they don't usually admit it to other races and prefer to blame everything else but themselves. For blacks to effectively race scam -- they have to hold the position that blacks behave the same and deserve the same outcomes as other races.
All Races Are the Same?
This is a part of the root of the problem. This proposal that all races are the same had no evidence to support it, yet it was asserted because it was politically correct. It was an appealing lie to believe because it "felt good."
Once this idea took hold, it now became a platform to say that all races should have the same things, and this has primarily been interpreted as non-whites invading white spaces and countries and taking their society from them.
Blacks want white outcomes, but because they can't produce white outcomes on their own, they have to invade white societies to obtain them, and their tool is not producing these things themselves but by taking them through living in white-originated societies.
The Repeating Pattern Seen Everywhere Blacks Exist
When blacks move into a neighborhood, that area becomes undesirable. Shoplifting increases, violence increases, and sexual assault increases. This leads to stores closing and a downward spiral for that area. The higher the percentage of the population that is black, the more predominant this and many other negative behaviors become as they begin to behave in conformance with black culture and expectations rather than conforming.
What Would Happen if the US Had No Blacks?
Blacks are a massive civilization threat to any country, society, or city that accepts them. All countries, except white countries, have figured out not to have blacks live in their borders.
Here is some food for thought: “What if all the Blacks suddenly left America, which is 13.3% of the total U.S. population?” and these statistics would improve.

Blacks are major users of subsidies from the rest of the taxpaying population. This burden (some of which used to help blacks reproduce more blacks) would be lifted from the rest of the population
The effect on cities would be profound. All of the predominantly black cities from Detroit to East St Louis to Baltimore to Atlantic City, Wilmington Deleware -- every city would experience an immediate and radical improvement.
Blacks as a Civilizational Threat
Blacks are a civilizational threat to any area, any city, and they seek to infiltrate white cities and countries because they have no ability to create functional societies, as I cover in the article What Happens When Blacks Take Over Management of Cities and Countries from Whites? Therefore, blacks need to infiltrate a society or city that is already built up by another group -- with the inevitable outcome that the area is ruined when a sufficient number of blacks are present.
