ByPrimary Researcher January 10, 2018March 3, 2021

… optimized for analytics and short query analytics.
SAP and its consulting partners advise their customers to use HANA in situations where it makes no sense to use it. This wastes the customer’s budgets on HANA implementations that will do very little except drive revenues to SAP and their consulting partners. They rely upon a series of unsubstantiated claims about HANA, claims that they cannot substantiate, and refuse to substantiate.
Mindless Recommendations Courtesy of SAP and SAP Consulting Partners
One of the incredibly prevalent factors with regards to HANA is that it has instilled a sort of mindlessness in SAP …

Feedback From Our Criticism
Someone at Diginomica recently told us that our research into SAP is not “constructive.” Furthermore, that we/Brightwork Research & Analysis are not thought of well in the SAP community.

Conclusion
As this is a primary SAP strategy, it would seem to be reasonable to validate if SAP’s statements about HANA’s performance are true. Therefore, we consider it highly relevant to whether SAP’s claims regarding HANA’s performance are true.
The compatibility argument that increasing numbers of SAP’s applications are proposed by SAP and by SAP’s consulting partners to only be supported by HANA is another topic.

Secondly, SAP implementations do not encourage creativity. SAP implementations are performed by SAP or consulting partners, and they seek rigid adherence to SAP messaging. That is, the implementers are to be passive recipients of SAP’s messaging.
The following quotation explains how SAP is inconsistent with design thinking from Wikipedia on design thinking.

The DT Navigator for Saving Money on SAP Consultants?
Is there a way to derive value from the DT Navigator?
We think there might be.
After the video, it is stated that the DT Navigator is designed for both customers and partners. So consulting partners will use the DT Navigator to come up with what they should tell customers to do. SAP consulting companies don’t do much else when it comes to advice but repeat what SAP says. If one views the DT Navigator as simply SAP’s official position …

This sentence was meaningless.

On the ground, Schwarz says that his soundings among the top 50 partners suggests that they are seeing a boom in business that they’ve not seen since the 1990s. I have not tested that extensively although the partner representatives with whom I keep in touch tell me they are run off their feet.
